When looking at current irrigation systems there is one big issue, and that is conservation of water. Many of the current systems focus only on getting adequate water to the crops, field, or lawn of interest, yet fail entirely to recognize that they may be watering too much. It is all too much of a regular occurrence to see a lawn being watered on a rainy day. In today's world this is unacceptable. Seeing the drastic need for water in locations challenged by drought, we need to consider water savings as a higher priority. This is not solved purely by innovation, but also requires individuals to be informed and to take control of their water usage.
